Saying YES to an old boat is never a really good idea. Had we known what was involved… we might have backed out of it.
The Dolphin 3 is a Moody 33 sailboat, donated by Art Nilsen — a retired USAF Colonel and missionary on the Azores. When Art heard about Hellenic Ministries using boats for evangelism, he offered the boat. Through our friendship with Alex Macris, director of Broad Reach Maritime, the boat came to us.
She was given to us to bring Jesus closer to people and people closer to Jesus. But we've also learned she was given to grow and deepen our faith. It is a true faith-building challenge.
